February 10, 1998 Durand and Electronic University Network to launch Pangaea Network
Durand and the Electronic University Network will create and market a new online service, the Pangaea Networksm, which will be wholly devoted to education and training online. The Pangaea Network will run on Durand's CommunityWare? platform, making it accessible to a global audience from anywhere on the web. The Pangaea Network will provide complete virtual campuses, as well as a package of marketing and publishing services to universities, public schools and corporate training centers, at a fraction of what it would cost an organization to develop and operate its own online services for its own students.

The Electronic University Network™ is an organization which for 14 years has focused on distance learning solutions for universities, public schools and corporate training centers. Sept 17, 1997 Durand Partners with the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA)
Durand Communications, Inc. has partnered with CompTIA (Computing Technology Industry Association) to use CommunityWare? for the deployment of intranet and extranet communications between CompTIA and its 7,500 member organizations. CommunityWare will serve as the communications platform to connect CompTIA's member organizations, task force committees and internally organized bodies through online conferencing, groupware and other interactive Web-based services.

August 20, 1997 Electric Minds Beta-Tests New Conferencing Platform as Rheingold Signs On
Durand announces today a deal with Electric Minds creator, Howard Rheingold. Rheingold will be responsible for building and hosting the Host University, community consulting and arranging high-profile online events, as he did with IBM’s chess competition, Deep Blue vs. Kasparov. As of September 14, the contract between Electric Minds and its current conferencing platform expires, thus Durand will also be migrating the entire Electric Minds community to CommunityWare.
